Local man injured in 1-vehicle accident in West Plains

A local man was injured in a one-vehicle accident Friday night in West Plains. Twenty-year-old Alexander Hernandez of Caulfield was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains with what were described as moderate injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Hernandez was on Ramseur Farm Road when he failed to yield to an emergency vehicle. He lost control of his pickup truck on a hillcrest, and it ran off the left side of the roadway and struck trees and a dirt embankment. Hernandez was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.

Hernandez’s truck was totaled in the 11:17 p.m. accident. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the West Plains Police Department and the Howell County Sheriff’s Office.
