No. 20 Missouri State women meet No. 2 Stanford in Sweet 16

The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament continues Sunday in San Antonio, and Missouri State is back in the Sweet 16. The 20th-ranked Lady Bears will be paired with No. 2 Stanford in the Alamo Region semifinals.

Missouri State entered the tournament as the region’s No. 5 seed. The Lady Bears are 23-2 on the season after beating up on Wright State Wednesday in the second round. Stanford is the tournament’s overall No. 1 seed. The Cardinal topped Oklahoma State on Tuesday to improve to 27-2.

Missouri State and Stanford also met in the Sweet 16 of the last tournament two years ago in Chicago. The Lady Bears fell to the Cardinal 55-46.

Tip-off at the Alamodome is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday’s game can be seen on ABC.
