ASP investigating officer-involved shooting at Casey’s in Mountain Home

Arkansas State Police is leading an investigation into an officer-involved shooting Tuesday night in the parking lot of the Casey’s General Store at 859 U.S. Hwy. 62 East in Mountain Home.

The incident occurred shortly before 8 when a reported “disturbance” reportedly transpired with a motorcyclist. No further details are available at this time and all information concerning the shooting will be issued by the Arkansas State Police, according to Interim Mountain Home Police Chief Eddie Griffin.

The officer and the agency to which they belong were not identified. No officers are believed to have been injured in the incident.

The aftermath of the shooting was broadcast live via social media.

The motorcycle remained on the premises of the shooting as officials from the state police were joined by Mountain Home Police and Baxter County Sheriff’s Office. The shooting victim was reportedly transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.
