Thursday marks the opening of another season of Major League Baseball, and the St. Louis Cardinals will begin the 2021 campaign on the road. The Redbirds will be in Cincinnati Thursday to start a three-game series with the Reds.

Both teams ended up clinching a Wild Card berth in last year’s playoffs. St. Louis ended up 30-28 in the regular season and was knocked out of the Wild Card round by San Diego. Cincinnati had a record of 31-29 during the 2020 regular season and was eliminated from the opening round of the postseason by Atlanta.

Jack Flaherty will by the Cardinals’ starting pitcher for Opening Day, and Luis Castillo will take the mound for the Reds. The first pitch at the Great American Ball Park is scheduled for 3:10. Thursday’s game can be heard on KTLO-AM. The broadcast begins at 2:15 with Ameren Total Access.
