The Mountain Home City Council will consider a sweeping ordinance to establish development regulations for areas such as parking lots, landscaping and drainage at its April monthly meeting Thursday evening.

The ordinance contains extensive protocols for approval, monitoring and enforcement on projects concerning land development in the city. The ordinance will be presented by Street Director Arnold Knox and Building Inspector Greg Ifland.

An ordinance to amend previous ordinances involving the pay scale at the fire department will also be under consideration. According to the meeting agenda, the ordinance would expand and redefine the job classification and compensation plans in order to enhance efficient management with the departments of the city of Mountain Home.

The council will hear a resolution authorizing the destruction of city records, as well as an inventory disposal request from the police department.

Mayor Hillrey Adams will present an offer for the purchase of land currently owned by the city from a private buyer. The land is described only by its legal description – “the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 31, Township 20 North, Range 12 West.” Online property records from Baxter County identify the land as a 40-acre tract located off Buzzard Roost Road.

The buyer’s identity and the cost of the property have been redacted from the documents provided with the meeting’s agenda.

The city council meeting begins at 6 at Mountain Home City Hall.
