Arvest Bank is getting ready to begin its yearly two-month effort to provide at least one million meals to those in need within the bank’s footprint. The 11th annual Million Meals campaign will be held Monday through May 29 as the bank partners with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, the Yellville Area Food Closet and the Good Neighbor Food Cupboard in Diamond City.

Since its launch 10 years ago, the Million Meals campaigns have raised a total of 17,068,971 meals, including over $3 million in funds given directly to Arvest Bank’s dozens of local food partners. Every dollar raised provides the equivalent of five meals for local hungry families.

In 2020, Arvest Bank was forced to suspend some aspects of its campaign to protect participants from the spread of coronavirus. Instead, the bank proactively provided one million meals to its food partners in the form of direct monetary donations. This year’s effort benefits over 90 organizations in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas.

The bank is not able to accept food donations in its branches this year, but customers and community members can donate directly to the bank’s food partners. Residents can support the Million Meals campaign by making monetary donations at Arvest Bank branches and drive-thrus in North Central Arkansas or by calling toll-free 1-866-952-9523. Customers can also donate via the Arvest Go mobile app, and holders of an Arvest Flex Rewards credit card can go to arvestflexrewards.com to redeem and donate reward points.
