MHHS girls finish 3rd, boys take 5th in Branson Track Invitational

The Mountain Home High School track teams traveled across the state line Thursday to compete in the Branson Track Invitational.

The Lady Bombers finished third in the team standings. Individually for Mountain Home, Emily Payne finished second in the 800-meter run with a personal record, Laurel Chafin was second in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the discus, Kinsey Taylor ended up second in the pole vault, Kylee Sabella took second place with a personal and school record in the triple jump, Riley Schmitz finished second in the long jump with a personal record and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles, Cayden Jones was third in the discus, Rylee Patterson ended up fourth in the 1600-meter run with a personal record, Jordan Ritenburg took fourth place in the 3200-meter run with a personal record, Emma Wilber finished fourth the high jump, and Victoria Bevel was fifth in the discus with a personal record. In addition, the team of Emma Martin, Chloe Lydon, Ritenburg and Kelsey Roach ended up third in the 4×800-meter relay; Chafin, Kendall Carter, Schmitz and Sabella took fourth place in the 4×100-meter relay in a season best time; and Cate Jackson, Martin, Kamryn Mullin and Payne finished fourth in the 4×800-meter relay in a season best time.

The Bombers were fifth on the boys’ side. Individually, Brody Patterson won the 110-meter hurdles and ended up second in the 300-meter hurdles, Dalton Schaufler won the triple jump and took fourth place in the long jump, Brayden Daniel finished second in the pole vault, and Parker Wise was second in the javelin with a personal and school record. Also, the team of Tatem Beshears, Brandon Barnett, Schaufler and Lawson Stockton ended up fifth in the 4×200-meter relay with a season-best time; Patterson, Schaufler, Daniel and Stockton took fifth place in the 4×400-meter relay; and Darren Blount, Tucker Davidson, Jacob Lewis and Tate McReynolds finished fifth in the 4×800-meter relay.
