Building permits retract after stellar January

After a stellar month in January of building permits issued in Mountain Home for almost $16 million in construction value, the report for February reflects a dip to $1.4 million.Just 11 permits were issued in February, according to a report from Jeannie Anderson from the Building Inspection Department.Topping the list was a permit to Kirk and Amber Brown for a single family home to be located at 167 South Sheeks. The 5,100-square-foot home has a construction value of $640,000.

Permits were issued to T&E Construction on behalf of Leisure Homes for five duplexes to be located along Maumee Court. Each of the 3,592-square-foot residences has a construction value of $172,000.

A permit was issued to Mountain Home Donuts #2 for a remodel project located at 300 East Main Street. The project has a construction value of $14,000.

A permit was issued to Donald Horsch for a shed to be located at 1409 Cresswell. The 196-square-foot structure has a construction value of $3,000.

Rounding on the February list are four sign permits.

At the top of the list is a permit issued to Pinnacle Signs on behalf of Century Bank of the Ozarks, located at 2448 U.S. Highway 62 East. The value of the sign is $12,000.

A permit was issued to Dijohn Design on behalf of Mountain Home Inn, located at 963 U.S. Highway 62 East. The value of the sign is $3,400.

A permit was issued to Dijohn Design on behalf of Reposado House, located at 420 South Main. The value of the sign is $1,200.

The final sign permit was issued to Scott Owens on behalf of Auntie Anne’s, located at 1610 U.S. Highway 62 East. The value of the sign is $100.

Total construction value of the 11 permits issued in February was $1.4 million.

The cost of all permits issued for the month of February totaled $2,512, including the actual cost of building, electric, and plumbing permits, as well as mowing fees.

The city building and inspection department handled 38 inspections for the month.
