MHHS soccer teams get swept at Greenbrier

The Mountain Home High School soccer teams had a rough outing on the road as they were swept in a pair of conference matches at Greenbrier.

After a scoreless tie at halftime, the Lady Panthers pulled away for a 2-0 victory over the Lady Bombers. Kirsten Stroud led the Mountain Home defense with 34 turnovers, and Haven Klinger recorded nine saves. The Lady Bombers fall to 3-3-2 in the 5A-West.

Mountain Home did not fare any better in the varsity boys’ match as they fell to Greenbrier 2-1, with all of the scoring coming in the first half. Gage Slaughter scored the Bombers’ lone goal off assists from Chris Matusiak and James Douglas, and Luke Darracq recorded four saves.

The junior varsity boys’ match ended in a scoreless tie. Robert Dover ended up with one save for the J.V. Bombers.

Mountain Home will return to Bomber Stadium on Friday to play host to Alma.
