Friday schedule includes MHHS starting Benton softball tourney

Baseball and softball make up much of the local Friday schedule.

The Mountain Home High School softball team will be in Benton for the first two games of the Drew Melton Forever Young Tournament. The Lady Bombers meet the host Lady Panthers at 4 p.m., and they’ll stay on the field to face Sheridan at 6.

Gainesville will play its first game in the Sparta Softball Classic. The Lady Bulldogs take on Fordland at 3 p.m.

Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Decatur, Flippin makes the short trip to Yellville-Summit, Dora heads to Alton, Mammoth Spring travels to Koshkonong, Marshall hosts South Side-Bee Branch, Lead Hill entertains Jasper, and Omaha will play Deer in Jasper.

Gainesville is also set to compete in the Hartville Baseball Tournament. The Bulldogs will be paired with the host Eagles at 5:30.

In other high school baseball, Cotter is home against Decatur, Flippin makes the trip to Yellville-Summit, Bakersfield heads to Cabool, Dora travels to Mountain View-Liberty, Viola makes the trip to Rector, Salem hosts White County Central, Mammoth Spring heads to Thayer, Melbourne travels to Tuckerman, Marshall entertains South Side-Bee Branch, Mountain View makes the trip to Searcy to meet Riverview, Lead Hill is home against Jasper, Bergman heads to Berryville, and Omaha hosts Deer.
