Harrison man arrested for allegedly shooting at moving car

Mark S. Belleville of Harrison was arrested the night of Friday, April 2, after allegedly shooting at a moving car and hitting a woman in the leg.

Harrison Assistant Police Chief J.R. Cagle said a man and a woman, ages 64 and 63, respectively, told police they were driving on state Highway 7 North just before 8 p.m. Friday when they pulled into a driveway in order to remove some devbris from the highway. The man and woman said that Belleville came out of the house and began yelling at them, starting an arguement, Cagle said. When the man and woman tried to leave, Belleville allegedly began shooting a gun at them, with one ound hitting the woman in the right leg. She was taken to a Springfield hospital for treatment, according to the arrest report.

Belleville was arrested at his residence and faces charges of first-degree battery, terroristic act, attempted murder and felon in possession of a firearm with bond set at $250,000, Cagle said. Online jail records indicate that Belleville was still being held held in the Boone County Jail as of midday Wednesday.
