Area athletes shine in North Arkansas All-Star Senior Showcase

Several high school basketball players gathered Saturday at the Cougar Den on the campus of Izard County High School in Brockwell for the North Arkansas All-Star Senior Showcase. The teams were named after their coaches.

The boys’ game ended with Team Bowlin beating Team Wade 109-100. Izard County’s Coby Everett was the game’s most valuable player as he led Team Bowlin with 26 points. The players of the game were Izard County’s Caleb Faulkner for Team Bowlin with 13 points and Marianna’s Kelvin Bowers for Team Wade with 17 points. Among other area athletes, Zach Bolin of Ozark Mountain had 10 points for Team Wade. For Team Bowlin, Izard County’s Noah Everett had 12 points, and Brock Lippe of Valley Springs added 10. The coaches were Scott Bowlin of Melbourne and Emmanuel Wade of Marianna.

In the girls’ contest, Team Small topped Team Bateman 85-52. The game’s MVP was Mountain View’s Aubrey Isbell as she led Team Small with 19 points. The players of the game were Viola’s Sami McCandlis for Team Bateman with 16 points and Rural Special’s Abbey Linville for Team Small with 18. Also for Team Bateman, Amber Yates of Salem scored 12 points, and Kylee Humphries of Melbourne chipped in 12. Calico Rock’s Kachina McDole finished with 11 points for Team Small. The coaches were Josh Bateman of Salem and Scott Small of Mammoth Spring.
