A St. Louis resident was injured Monday evening in a two-boat collision in Ozark County. Eighty-seven-year-old Richard Stephens was treated on the scene by EMS personnel and later transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center with what were described as minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Stephens was boating in the Spring Creek arm of Bull Shoals Lake and did not see another boat driven by 49-year-old Michael Bye of High Ridge, Missouri. Bye’s vessel impacted the rear of Stephens’ boat, and both vessels came to a controlled stop. Bye was not injured.

Stephens’ boat had moderate damage, and Bye’s vessel had minor damage in the 8:15 p.m. accident.
