Mountain Home issues 11 building permits in April

Building permits issued in Mountain Home for April reflect $500,000 in construction value, a decline of roughly $900,000 compared to the permits issued for March.The city issued a single permit for residential construction in April, leading to the month’s deflated construction values compared to recent months, which saw more than a dozen permits issued for single- and multi-family residential construction.

A total of 11 permits were issued in April, according to a report from Jeannie Anderson from the Building Inspection Department.

The lone home construction permit was issued to PDM Designs for a single-family home located at 456 Olympic Drive. That residence has a construction value of $400,000.

A permit was issued to The Shiney Lime Hair Studio on behalf of Lumber Hack Wood Working for a remodeling project located at 15 E. 6th Street. That project has a total space of 1,400 square feet and has a construction value of $49,000.

The city issued three permits for storage buildings last month.

Tim and Brenda Simon received a permit for a 1,600 square foot storage building at 1804 Franklin Avenue. That building has a construction value of $40,000.

Glen Shields received a storage building permit for 434 Cooper Street. That building will have 192 square feet and has a construction value of $$4,600.

Steve Edwards received a permit for a 128 square foot storage building for 211 E. 11th Street. That building has a construction value of $800.

Rounding out the April building permit lists are six sign permits.

Topping the list was is a permit issued to Schlotzsky’s for Design Team Sign Company LLC to build a sign at 1012 Highway 62 East. That value of that sign is $27,995.

A permit was issued to the Women’s Wellness Center, located at 230 Highway 5 North, for a sign with a construction value of $3,200. That work was carried out by Capples Sign Company.

Vacco Insurance was issued a permit for a sign at 365 Highway 5 North. Oxford Signs & Neon carried out that construction, which has an estimated value of $1,870.

A permit was issued to Auntie Ann’s for a sign at 1610 Highway 62 East. That sign has a construction value of $100 and was built by the business’ owner, Scott Owens.

Caston Fruit Stand was issued a sign permit for 620 Highway 5 North. That sign was built by Fred Caston and has a construction value of $32.

Total construction value of the 11 permits issued in April was $529,097.

The cost of all permits issued for the month of April totaled $1,942.75, including the actual cost of building, electric, mechanical, plumbing and lot split permits.

The city building and inspection department handled 50 inspections for the month.
