A woman from Henderson has been arrested after allegedly shooting at her ex-husband during an argument. The victim also alleges he was hit in the face by 44-year-old Stacy Michelle Shelton.

The probable cause statement in the case by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office indicates deputies were called to a residence in Henderson Tuesday morning by a man who said his former wife shot at him and he was hiding in the woods until law enforcement arrived.

Deputies learned the victim and Shelton had gotten into an argument over items he was collecting from the house to take back to Jonesboro where he lives. The two had purchased the home in Henderson together after their divorce. The victim told deputies Shelton struck him a couple of times in the face with her fists and wanted the items placed back in the house. He complied because she was holding the handgun. But when he was still in the house and said he was going to leave, the victim says Shelton fired one shot at him but missed.

Shelton admitted to firing the gun towards her ex-husband but said her intention was not to shoot him. She was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault on a family or household member. She is free after posting $15,000 bond.
