A Baxter County man was injured last weekend when his motorcycle hit a deer. Fifty-four-year-old Robert Bennett of rural Mountain Home was transported by a private vehicle to Baxter Regional Medical Center with what was described as suspected serious injuries.
According to a report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Bennett was traveling last Saturday on Arkansas Highway 5 South. He was near the 6500 block of the highway when the deer ran on the road, and the motorcycle hit and killed the deer.
The deputy says upon arrival, Bennett’s father had already transported him to the hospital. The deputy later went to Baxter Regional and discovered Bennett had a head injury and several other injuries.
Bennett was reportedly not wearing a helmet in the 1:29 p.m. accident.
