Searcy County man faces additional rape charge

A Marshall man arrested on rape charges in Searcy County in June, now faces additional charges in Stone County.

Thirty-year-old Devin Lars Williams of Marshall was charged with one additional rape charge and two counts of sexual assault in the second degree. He remains in the Searcy County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond, with bond on the Stone County charges set at $300,000.

Searcy County authorities received information in June when a 12-year-old female contacted law enforcement and alleged she had been sexually assaulted on May 29 by Williams, who is a truck driver. According to the victim, sexual assaults occurred in Marshall, inside the sleeping compartment of the semi-truck owned by Williams.

The victim also alleged other assaults took place in Oxley and Marshall in Searcy County, and in Timbo in Stone County, over the last two years. Stone County Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton said in a news release that a joint investigation uncovered three different assaults on the teen occurred in Stone County within the past year.

Marshall Police arrested Williams in June as he was attempting to leave the state.
