High school football makes up much of the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home will be among most schools in Arkansas finishing non-conference play. The Bombers will be back on the road to meet up with Batesville.
Mountain Home is currently 0-2 on the season. The Bombers let a two-touchdown lead slip away last week and lost by seven at Nettleton. Batesville is also 0-2 after a 14-point loss at Searcy eight days ago, but Mountain Home head coach Steve Ary says his defense will need to be aggressive physically to stop the Pioneers’ ground attack.

Kickoff at Pioneer Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Radio coverage begins around 5:30 with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday. Fans can also view the game live on the Bomber Sports Network channel on YouTube.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem hosts Corning, Melbourne travels to England, and Mountain View entertains Quitman. Yellville-Summit and Harrison are idle this week. On the eight-man level, Marshall makes the trip to Brinkley.

This is the fourth week of the season in Missouri. Among area schools, West Plains heads to Camdenton, Hollister is home against Marshfield, Forsyth travels to Fair Grove, Branson hosts Neosho, Ava makes the trip to Mountain View-Liberty, Willow Springs entertains Mountain Grove, and Thayer heads to Salem, Missouri.
