As the wintry mix continues to fall in the Twin Lakes Area, motorists will want to use extra caution on the roads Wednesday evening.

A Mountain Home Police Department spokesperson says the city streets are starting to get slick in some areas, but they have not received reports of any accidents. A spokesperson at the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office said the situation was similar for roads throughout the county.

A dispatch spokesperson at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office says the roads are fairly slick. Highway crews are working to clear the roads as much as possible, but motorists will need to be aware of slick areas on the side roads.

According to IDriveArkansas.com, U.S. Highway 62/412 is covered with snow throughout Baxter County and with slush from Cotter to Pyatt. Arkansas Highway 5 is covered in snow from Mountain Home to the Baxter/Izard county line. U.S. Highway 65 is covered with slush from St. Joe to Harrison and from Bear Creek Springs to the state line.

A spokesperson at the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office says the roads are mainly wet, and they haven’t had any reports of slick areas. The Missouri Department of Transportation’s traveler information map shows the area roads are mainly clear.
