California man drowns after jumping into Table Rock Lake

A California man has drowned after jumping into Table Rock Lake Monday afternoon. Forty-nine-year-old Corey Ross of Carlsbad was pronounced dead at 4:30 by the Taney County coroner.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ross jumped off the Table Rock Dam spillway on Missouri Highway 165 and into the lake. In addition to the coroner’s office, the highway patrol was also assisted at the scene by Branson’s police and fire departments and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Ross’ death is the third drowning reported by Troop D this year.
