1 boil order lifted, another remains in place

The Arkansas Department of Health has lifted a boil water order for part of a water system in Newton County.

The boil water order has been lifted for Parthenon Water Association customers served by the Gum Springs Road booster tank.

The boil order was issued May 7 due to a water line break, but has been lifted as of Friday morning at 10.

A boil water order for part of a water system in Stone County remains in place.

The boil water order is for customers of the Sylamore Valley Water Association in the Hayden Heights Road area along the White River north of Allison.

The boil order was issued May 12 due to a main break and will remain in effect until further notice.

All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
