Fortner holds off challenger, wins re-election as State Representative

Yellville’s Jack Fortner has held off a challenge from Bruce Emerson to win re-election to the Arkansas State House of Representatives. Fortner carried both Baxter and Marion counties to pick up 63% of the vote while Emerson had 37%. Fortner finished with 3,609 total votes, 1,642 in Baxter County and 1,967 in Marion County. Emerson finished with 2,102 total votes, 933 in Baxter County and 1,169 in Marion County.

Fortner says it was a rewarding victory.
