Road construction project starts Monday in West Plains

A month-long road construction project in West Plains begins Monday. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a portion of U.S. Highway 63 Business will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews perform pavement repairs.

The construction zone begins at the intersection with Porter Wagoner Boulevard and continues east to the intersection with Washington Avenue. Weather permitting, work will be conducted daily from 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening, with weekends as necessary. The project is expected to be completed Sept. 1.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Flaggers will be present and will guide trafffic through the work zone. Motorists will be are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
