More municipal races develop in Big Flat, Bull Shoals

With just a few hours left for potential candidates to file for municipal positions for the general election, two more races have developed in Baxter and Marion counties.

Big Flat Mayor Glenda Wiseman will be challenged for her seat in November. Charles Schmitt is challenging Wiseman after filing his candidacy on Tuesday.

Sharon K. White is seeking Position 1 on the Big Flat City Council, and she is currently unopposed. Current council member Bill Baze has not filed for re-election.

Keith Lewis is seeking another term as the mayor of Briarcliff. Lewis currently does not have an opponent for the general election.

Sheila Wingard filed to seek Ward 1, Position 2 on the Cotter City Council, and she is currently without an opponent. Current council member Mark Johnson has not filed for re-election.

Kay Gragg will run for another term in Ward 3, Position 2 on the Norfork City Council. Gragg currently does not have a challenger.

Lindley Reubin filed for re-election in Ward 1, Position 2 on the Lakeview City Council. Reubin is currently running unopposed.

In Marion County, a fourth race has developed for the city council in the city of Bull Shoals. Daryl Lindman will seek re-election for Ward 1, Position 1. Roderick Schmitt has also filed to challenge him.

Joey Grede is looking to stay in Ward 1, Position 2 on the Bull Shoals City Council. Grede currently does not have an opponent.

Four additional filings for the city of Yellville include three incumbents, and they are currently unopposed. The incumbents include Layton Lee in Ward 1, Position 1; Ken Rigmaiden in Ward 2, Position 1; and Maggie Davenport in Ward 3, Position 1. Clark Gustin is seeking Ward 3, Position 2, currently held by Kevin Goulet.

Summit had its first filing on Tuesday. Donald Brideau is seeking a position on the Summit City Council.

Two have filed for the Pyatt City Council. Incumbent Wendy Nelson is seeking another term, and Kristine Williams is also running.

The deadline to file for municipal positions is noon Wednesday.
