Three high school teams from Salem will be among over 300 taking part in one of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society’s (B.A.S.S.) biggest amateur events beginning on Thursday. The teams of Madison Busch and Keaton Bassham, Blake Ingram and Fisher Tyler and Colton Smith and Huntlee York are in Anderson, South Carolina, for the start of the Abu Garcia Bassmaster High School Championship presented by Academy Sports and Outdoors on Lake Hartwell.

This year’s tournament is a three-day event. All registered teams will compete on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, the field will be cut to the top 10 teams to decide this year’s national championship.

The boats will launch from Green Pond Landing and Event Center each morning at 5:20 and return at 1:20 in the afternoon for weigh-ins.
