Friday football results include Yellville-Summit falling at Melbourne

Yellville-Summit had a rough outing in its first road test of the conference slate on Friday. The Panthers fell to Melbourne 44-0. Yellville-Summit falls to 4-2 on the season and 0-2 in the 3A-2, and they’ll host Quitman next week. Melbourne improves to 5-0 and 1-0, and they’ll host Salem next Friday.

Salem had a rough night in front of the home crowd as they hosted another group of Greyhounds. Salem lost to Newport by a final of 44-28. Salem drops to 4-2 on the year and 1-1 in the 3A-2.

Harrison had a tough road trip. The Goblins were edged out by Prairie Grove 46-40. Harrison falls to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the 5A-West, and they’ll host Alma in two weeks.

On the eight-man level, Izard County was able to avenge an earlier loss to another group of Cougars. Izard County breezed past Rector 38-8. Izard County improves to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in the 2A/1A-North, and they’ll host KIPP: Delta next week.

Marshall was not able to spoil Mountain View’s homecoming on Friday. The Bobcats fell to the Yellowjackets 44-0. Marshall drops to 1-5 on the season and 1-3 in the 4A/3A division, and they’ll travel to Newark next Friday to meet Cedar Ridge. Mountain View, currently the top-ranked team in Classes 4A/3A, is 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the 4A/3A division, and they’ll go to Hot Springs to face Cutter-Morning Star.
