Christopher Gragg

A Norfork man who has been arrested twice when found either passed out or sitting in parked vehicles and once after being stopped by an Arkansas State Police trooper appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.

Each time officers have come in contact with 43-year-old Christopher Gragg, he has been found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Gragg pled guilty to drug-related charges in two criminal cases opened last year and one this year. He was given six years probation.

He is reported to have once admitted to an arresting officer that he “struggles with an addiction” he is unable to control.

The court was told Monday that Gragg plans to enter the John 3:16 rehabilitation program.

MOST RECENT ARREST

In the newest cased opened against Gragg, he was found passed out in a vehicle parked at a Mountain Home convenience store April 1.

When a Mountain Home police officer responded to the scene, he saw Gragg, who was sitting in the driver’s seat but slumped over into the passenger seat.

The officer reported opening the driver’s side door and tapping Gragg on the arm. Gragg is reported to have sat up.

Gragg was asked to exit the vehicle to get some fresh air. The officer saw a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in the storage pocket of the driver’s door. Another pipe was sticking out of some trash on the front passenger’s seat.

After Gragg exited the vehicle, he was patted down and two small plastic bags were found in his watch pocket – one containing a white crystalline substance and the other a green leafy material.

Another bag containing a green leafy substance was also found.

ADDITIONAL ARRESTS

Gragg was arrested twice last year and both times was reported to be in possession of drugs and paraphernalia to use drugs.

In one situation leading to his arrest, Gragg was found in a vehicle sitting near an entrance to the ASU-Mountain Home campus with only its parking lights illuminated on November 18 last year.

When his vehicle was searched Gragg was found to have drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession.

The third arrest came in late October 2021 when an Arkansas State Trooper saw a vehicle cross the centerline.

During the stop, Gragg was found to have a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance, a metal tray containing a substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine.

Also found during the search of the vehicle was a metal grinder and a pipe used to ingest drugs.
