
The Cotter High School basketball teams were swept at Yellville-Summit on Friday. The Warriors lost to the Panthers 59-42 in the boys’ game. Cotter’s girls also fell to Yellville-Summit 64-42.
The Izard County Tournament held its third place games at Cave City.
Calico Rock came up just short in the senior boys’ bracket. The Pirates were edged out by the host Cavemen 55-53.
Izard County took third place in the senior girls’ division with a 60-49 win over Cave City. The Lady Cougars were led by Makensie Yancey with 21 points, and Quinn Johnson provided 14.
In the junior boys’ game, Calico Rock lost to Izard County 51-35. Sebastian Nussbickel was the Junior Cougars’ top scorer with 30 points, and Garrett Dillard finished with 16.
Salem’s girls came away with an easy win on the road. The Lady Greyhounds invoked the mercy rule and beat up on Walnut Ridge 58-20.
Mammoth Spring split its high school games at home with Marked Tree.
The Lady Bears picked up a 69-52 win over the Lady Indians. Brynn Washam paced Mammoth Spring with 32 points, and Tay Davis and Adrianna Corbett added 12 each.
Mammoth Spring had a different result in the boys’ game as they fell to Marked Tree 63-48. The Bears were led by Gavin Boddie with 10 points.
The Marshall girls were able to put the mercy rule in effect in a road outing. The Lady Bobcats pounded White County Central 66-31.
Mountain View had mixed results at Concord. The Yellowjackets took the boys’ game 70-43 over the Pirates. Mountain View’s girls did not fare as well as they lost to Concord 62-50.
Bergman’s boys lost their semifinal game in the Battle at the Ridge in Pea Ridge. The Panthers fell to County Line 54-43.
The Bergman girls got beat in the semifinals of the Taco Bell Tournament of Champions at Northside High School in Fort Smith. The Lady Panthers lost to Carl Junction, Missouri, 62-56.
