A man has been arrested on allegations of threatening to burn down an area courthouse. Fifty-two-year-old Aaron Meier of Ava has been charged with a felony count of first-degree terroristic threatening.
According to a Facebook post from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Meier had been involved in another court case on Jan. 4, and afterward, he allegedly made the threat to the county courthouse. He reportedly return to the courthouse on Tuesday and was taken into custody by Sheriff Chris Degase and a deputy.
Meier appeared in court on the new charge on Friday. A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 17.
