Wednesday basketball schedule includes MHHS at Greenbrier for makeup games

Basketball makes up much of the local Wednesday schedule and includes a makeup outing for the Mountain Home High School teams. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will have the first of three straight road trips as they go to Greenbrier.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 13-11 on the season and 4-4 in the 5A-West. The Lady Bombers are coming off a 12-point win over Harrison on Tuesday. Greenbrier is 4-18 and 0-8. The Lady Panthers got beat up by Russellville the night before.
The Mountain Home boys are also 13-11 overall and 4-4 in the league. The Bombers fell to Harrison on Tuesday. Greenbrier is 11-11 and 5-3. The Panthers came up just short against Russellville in their most recent game.
The girls’ game tips off at 5 at the Panther Pavilion followed by the boys’ contest. Both games will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
There will be another set of makeup games in the 5A-West. Alma will play host to Greenwood.

Elsewhere on the high school level, Norfork travels to Viola, Gainesville’s boys make the trip to Seymour, the Dora boys head to Cabool, and Mammoth Spring’s girls travel to Annapolis, Missouri, to meet South Iron.

The 2A-1 Junior District Tournament will wrap up its first round at Cotter. Eureka Springs and Life Way Christian play a doubleheader starting with the boys at 4:30, and the Cotter boys face Haas Hall-Bentonville at 7.

The 3A-1 Junior District Tournament will finish its opening round at Valley Springs. On the boys’ side, Valley Springs takes on West Fork at 5:15, and Flippin plays Green Forest at 7:45. Flippin’s girls will be paired with Elkins at 6:30.

Two area teams will play their openers in the 3A-2 Junior District Tournament at Newport. The Mountain View boys face the host Junior Greyhounds at 5:15, and Salem’s girls take on Hoxie at 6:30.

The 1A-1 East Junior District Tournament will get underway at Omaha. On the girls’ bracket, Jasper and Oark tip off at 3:30, and Lead Hill plays Kingston at 5:30. In the boys’ games, Lead Hill will be matched up with Oark at 4:30, and Omaha faces Kingston at 8:30.
