Basketball makes up much of the local Thursday schedule as Mountain Home’s freshman team will continue action in the Northeast Arkansas District Tournament. The Junior Lady Bombers will host West Memphis West on the junior high campus. Tip-off is scheduled for 5.
The semifinals of the 2A-1 Junior District Tournament will be held at Cotter. The girls’ game between the host Junior Lady Warriors and Ozark Mountain tips off at 4:30, Yellville-Summit faces Life Way Christian for a doubleheader starting with the boys’ at 5:45, and Ozark Mountain’s boys take on Haas Hall-Bentonville at 8:15.
Izard County’s boys will return to Sloan-Hendrix High School in Imboden for the championship game of the 2A-2 Junior District Tournament. The Junior Cougars play South Side-Bee Branch at 7:15.
After having a first round bye, both of Mammoth Spring’s teams will take part in the semifinals of the 1A-3 Junior District Tournament at Crowley’s Ridge Academy in Paragould. The Junior Bears will be paired with the host Junior Eagles in the boys’ game at 5:15, and the Mammoth Spring girls face Armorel at 6:30.
Rural Special’s girls will compete for the title of the 1A-2 Junior District Tournament at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. The Junior Lady Rebels take on Concord at 6.
On the high school level, the Gainesville girls travel to Seymour.
