Teen pleads guilty to sending threatening text messages to mother

A 19-year-old man pled guilty in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday to making threats to family members and was sentenced to two years on probation.

Logan Michael Wood, who lists a Gassville address on court documents, was accused of sending five text threatening text messages to his mother. One message read, “If I have to come to Mountain Home, I will kill every one of you.”

The situation came to light when Wood’s mother flagged down a Lakeview police officer in early March last year. She reported the messages and said she had gotten information that her son “might be back on drugs” and carrying a .38 millimeter pistol.

She said the family was “very frightened” by the content of the messages.

Wood was also arrested in May 2021 on a charge of assaulting a family member. In that case, a firearm was reported to have been fired inside a residence.
