
A Baxter County Master Gardeners’ tradition since 1994 is set to continue this weekend. The “Developing an Ozarks Green Thumb” Spring Seminar is scheduled for Saturday from 8 to 3:30 in the Fellowship Center of First United Methodist Church.
This year’s seminar will have several speakers. Gardening in the Ozarks co-host Vicki Garner was a recent guest of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM, and she says this year’s featured speaker is Joe Lamp’l.

Other speakers include Missouri Botanical Garden’s Kemper Center for Home Gardening Supervisor Daria McKelvey, Xerces Society Grazing Land Pollinator Ecologist Ray Moranz and National Center for Appropriate Technology horticulturist Guy Ames of Ames Orchard and Nursery in Fayetteville. In addition, Food Bank of North Central Arkansas Chief Executive Officer Jeff Quick will speak with his topic titled “Healthy Foods Equal Better Health Outcomes.”
Garner says the seminar will also have tables set up with displays and information for attendees to take home.
