A vehicle caught fire last weekend in southern Baxter County. No injuries were reported.
According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 911 dispatch notified the Norfork Fire Department Sunday afternoon about a vehicle on fire on Round Rock Trail. The vehicle was actually about a quarter-mile from Arkansas Highway 201 South on County Road 262. Fire crews were on the scene when a deputy arrived, and the vehicle was fully engulfed.
The deputy was told by the victim he started smelling burning plastic, exited the vehicle and opened the hood. The vehicle wouldn’t start, and the driver started walking to a nearby residence when he saw smoke coming from the vehicle.
The vehicle was a total loss.
