The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team began the Big Nuts Classic with two wins Friday in Charleston, Mo.
The Lockeroom started the day with a 5-3 victory over the host Fighting Squirrels as all of their runs came in the sixth inning. Isaiah Wood picked up the win on the mound. Lincoln Sherry and Xander McCandlis both doubled for Mountain Home, and Jackson Corp was able to drive both home. Ike Barrow had two hits, Jordan Corbett gave the Lockeroom the lead for good with an RBI base hit, and Easton Carter added an RBI base hit to bring in the final run.
Mountain Home followed with a 6-3 win over Jefferson City, Mo.
The Lockeroom will wrap up pool play on Saturday as they meet the Cardinals Legacy Perfectos from Missouri at noon and Columbia, Tenn., at 4.
