MacLeod sweeps doubleheader at Forsyth

The Mountain Home MacLeod American Legion baseball team had a successful road trip on Tuesday as they swept a doubleheader over Forsyth.

MacLeod doubled up Forsyth 8-4 in the opener. Landon Newton picked up the win as he pitched five innings, struck out one batter and gave up four hits and four runs. Truett Lindsey was credited with the save as he worked the final two innings and recorded two strikeouts. Koen Bickford led Mountain Home with two hits and three RBIs; Lindsey provided two hits and scored a run; and Newton, Tate Cudworth, Erik Foster and Will Morris each added a base hit.

The second game was more lopsided as MacLeod topped Forsyth 11-4. Foster was the winning pitcher with three innings, five strikeouts and one hit. Cudworth and Lindsey each pitched an inning. Mountain Home was led by Eli Jones with two hits and four RBIs; Colt Crownover finished with two hits and scored a run; and Will Morris, Owen Morris, Newton, Rowan Askew and Braxton Blagg each ended up with a hit.

MacLeod will be back on the road Thursday for an outing with Springdale.
