A Mammoth Spring Man has been charged with negligent homicide.

This in connection with a crash that killed a 17-year-old girl in January of 2024. Court records indicate that 43-year-old Evan French has also been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and driving while intoxicated.

Authorities say on January 17th 2024, French was driving under the influence when he lost control of his vehicle on an icy roadway. The Chevrolet truck then crossed the center line and went off the side of State Highway 289 near Mammoth Spring, hitting a concrete culvert and overturning, partially ejecting the 17-year-old female. She died at the scene.

French’s blood alcohol level was 0.17%, more than twice the legal limit.
