An Izard County man has been arrested for threats he sent on Facebook after he was notified his father’s vehicle was removed from a property abandoned there for two years. Thirty-six-year-old Cody Casey is facing a charge of terroristic threatening for the incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on September 19, deputies with the Izard County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Oxford for a report of a threatening message. The victim stated she was moving a mobile home onto her property, and in order to do so, she needed to remove an abandoned vehicle. She said the vehicle had been on the property for over two years. The victim said she contacted the vehicle’s owner to let him know it had been towed off her property and gave him contact information to get ahold of the person who towed the vehicle.
After learning the vehicle had been towed, Casey allegedly sent a message on Facebook Messenger with heavy use of profanity and threats, stating he was going to kill the victim and her two children. The victim said she wouldn’t put it past Casey to act on these threats due to his past actions. She stated two years ago, Casey had kicked in her front door and hit her daughter, and thus, believed the threats to be serious.
Casey is facing a felony count of terroristic threatening. Once arrested, his bond is set at $10,000 with an order for no contact with the victim.
