LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – On Monday, members of Arkansas State Police (ASP) Troop A Highway Patrol arrested Asa Matthew Sarver, 39, of Hot Springs, for two felony counts of aggravated assault and two counts of obstructing governmental operations in connection to separate road rage incidents late last month. Troopers transported Sarver to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, shortly after 10 a.m., troopers responded to a road rage incident on Interstate 30 near Scott Hamilton Drive, where a witness identified a white Ford F-150 driving aggressively and pointing a dark-colored handgun at him.
Two days later, at approximately 10:15 a.m., troopers responded to another road rage incident on Interstate 430 northbound. The witness identified a white Ford F-150 traveling at a high rate of speed, attempting to pass her on the right side. The witness said the driver of the truck began making obscene gestures and brandished a black handgun.
Sarver pleaded not guilty to the charges on Wednesday. His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 4.
