
The Cotter High School basketball teams were swept by Tuckerman on their home floor. The Warriors fell to the Bulldogs 59-31 in the boys’ game. Cotter also lost the girls’ contest to Tuckerman 50-24.
Flippin had mixed results in its high school games at Mountain View.
The Bobcats got past the Yellowjackets 58-53 in the boys’ game. Flippin was led by Rilyn Robins with 17 points, Tucker Thompson finished with 15, and Tucker Thompson chipped in 10. The Bobcats improve to 17-4 on the season and 3-1 in the 3A-2.
Flippin did not fare as well in the girls’ contest. The Lady Bobcats fell to Mountain View 61-29.
Yellville-Summit split its high school games at Valley Springs.
The Panthers were able to capture the boys’ game. Yellville-Summit squeaked by the Tigers 50-49.
The girls’ contest had a different result as Yellville-Summit was toppled by Valley Springs 73-32. True Layton was the Lady Panthers’ top scorer with 13 points. Macy Willis ended up with 24 points for the Lady Tigers, and Tayla Trammell added 21. Valley Springs improves to 16-2 on the year and 3-0 in the 3A-2.
Viola’s girls picked up a win in front of the home crowd as they beat Bakersfield 56-49. The Lady Lions fall to 5-2 on the season.
The Bakersfield boys finished the week as the runners-up of the Liberty Invitational at Mountain View, Mo. The Lions fell to Hartville 42-37.
Gainesville’s boys were able to win their homecoming game. The Bulldogs topped Summersville 61-43.
The Salem High School teams suffered a sweep at Bergman. The Lady Greyhounds lost to the Lady Panthers 57-53. Salem also fell to Bergman in the boys’ game 78-33.
Izard County picked up a four-game sweep at home over Mammoth Spring. The Cougars defeated the Bears 57-36 in the senior boys’ game, 60-37 in the senior girls’ contest, 44-28 in the junior boys’ game and 47-24 in the junior girls’ game.
Dora was swept in its high school games at Couch. The Falcons lost the boys’ game to the Indians 62-48. The Dora girls also fell to Couch 44-26.
The Melbourne High School teams were able to sweep Cedar Ridge at Newark. The Lady Bearkatz breezed past the Lady Timberwolves 55-31. Melbourne also won the boys’ game over Cedar Ridge 63-59.
Marshall was swept in its high school games at home by Sloan-Hendrix. The Bobcats were edged out by the Greyhounds 57-56 in the boys’ game. Marshall also lost the girls’ game to Sloan-Hendrix 79-48.
Harrison’s boys were successful in the opening game of the John Stanton Classic at Conway. The Goblins got past North Little Rock 63-59.
The Ozark Mountain High School teams split its homecoming games with Ozark Catholic at Western Grove. The Lady Bears beat up on the Lady Griffins 52-23. Ozark Mountain was not as fortunate in the boys’ game as they fell to Ozark Catholic 59-49.
