The East Poinsett County boys’ basketball team was able to successfully defend its state championship from a year ago. The Warriors defeated Tuckerman 43-30 for the Class 2A title Thursday in Hot Springs.
Tyrus Reel won the game’s MVP award after scoring 11 points for EPC. The Warriors were led by Ashton Reel with 18 points. Amare Neal had 10 points for the Bulldogs.
EPC’s season ends at 29-16. Tuckerman ends up at 26-17.
