A Northeast Arkansas man who was arrested in February for having sex with a 14-year-old girl and stealing her mom’s gun in Stone County has been arrested again after being found hiding under the girl’s bed. This time he had a gun he was pointing at police who were there to arrest him. Eighteen-year-old Isaac Graham Land of Pocahontas is facing three charges for his latest incident in Mountain View.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Mountain View Police Department, officers were called to the house May 30 when there was a report of a man with a gun and possible injuries. When officers arrived, they found two female teenagers outside, but they said they had not seen anyone with a gun. The teen who lives at the residence told one of the officers she had not had contact with Land for three months after the officer said they had been told it was Land who was there with a gun.
Officers contacted the girl’s mother, who was not there at the time, and she gave them permission to search the house. Officers did not find anyone and left the scene.
A few minutes later, the mother called to report Land was under her daughter’s bed. The officers returned and the daughter said if Land was in there, he was not invited and must have broken in. The officers found Land under the bed and could see a gun. They were able to take him into custody without incident. Land later admitted he had the gun pointed at the officers throughout the event.
Land is charged with breaking or entering, aggravated assault and possession of firearms by certain persons, meaning he is a convicted felon. He also faces a penalty enhancement of being a habitual offender, meaning he has four or more felony convictions.
Land was arrested in February by Mountain View Police on charges of sexual indecency with a child and theft of a firearm after the mother reported Land, who had been staying at their house, had taken her handgun. During the investigation, it was learned Land and the 14-year-old daughter had sexual intercourse.
Land, through a plea deal with the court, pled guilty to theft of a firearm and contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was given 5 years probation on the theft charge and one year suspended imposition of sentence for the contributing charge.
Land is being held in the Stone County Jail with bond set at $200,000 according to the online jail log.
