A record-setting four Arkansas Razorbacks were named All-Americans by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Wednesday, marking the most selections in a single season in program history.

Shortstop Wehiwa Aloy, outfielder Charles Davalan, and designated hitter Kuhio Aloy earned second-team honors, while left-handed pitcher Zach Root was named to the third team. The quartet becomes the 35th through 38th All-Americans in Razorback baseball history.

Previously, Arkansas had a maximum of three All-Americans in a season in both 2019 and 2021.

Wehiwa Aloy, the SEC Player of the Year and a finalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy, led the way. He posted a .348 batting average with 20 home runs, 18 doubles, and 64 RBI. His 78 runs scored rank tied for fourth in a single season in school history, just nine shy of Eric Hinske’s record of 87 set in 1997. Aloy also anchored a defense that ranks second nationally with a .984 fielding percentage and made numerous highlight-reel plays at shortstop. He is the first Razorback ever to earn All-America honors at the position.

His younger brother, Kuhio Aloy, added to the family legacy with a standout season as Arkansas’ designated hitter. Batting .330, he hit 13 home runs, 15 doubles, and led the team with 70 RBI. He is just the second Razorback to be recognized as an All-American DH, following Tim Lollar in 1978.

Davalan delivered consistency and power in the outfield, batting .355 with 14 home runs, 12 doubles, two triples, and 59 RBI. Defensively, he was perfect in the field with no errors and added four outfield assists.

On the mound, Root was a reliable ace, serving as the team’s No. 1 weekend starter. He compiled a 3.59 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP across 92 2/3 innings, striking out 119 while walking 31.
