Pool play ends with Lockeroom and Pontotoc as front runners of Twin Lakes Classic

Saturday saw the end of pool play in day 3 of the 39th Mickey Huskey Lockeroom Twin Lakes Classic at Lester White Field. Lockeroom and Pontotoc enter the final round Sunday as the pool winners.

The first game was a matchup between St. Peters and Southern Elevator and St. Peters took the win 8-5 finishing the tournament with a record of 1-2. Southern Elevator leaves the classic with a record of 0-3.

Mountain Home’s MacLeod struggled in their final game falling to Pontotoc 14-0. Rowan Askew was first pitcher for Mountain Home, striking out 3 and walking 5. Grady Pitcock led MacLeod with one hit in one at bat. Pontotoc heads into the final day with a 3-0 record and the winner of Pool B.

Bartlesville laid out Bakersfield 13-1 in the third game of the afternoon. Bakersfield heads back across the state line with a record of 0-3. Bartlesville takes the second wild card in Sunday’s finals with a record 2-1.

The last game of the night ended with Lockeroom as winners of Pool A beating Jefferson City 9-1. Owen Hyslip earned the win for Mountain Home striking out 3 and walking one. Jefferson City ends regular play 2-1 earning a wild card slot Sunday.

Sunday’s final will see Pontotoc face Jefferson City at 11. Lockeroom will play Jefferson City at 1:15. The winners face off at 3:30 for the championship game.
