Governor Sanders appoints new Justice of the Peace for Searcy County Quorum Court

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced several key appointments to county offices on Friday, including a new Justice of the Peace for Searcy County.

Tarance DePriest of Marshall has been appointed to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 4 of the Searcy County Quorum Court. His term will run through December 31, 2026, and he will fulfill the remaining term of Danny Loggins.

In addition to DePriest’s appointment, Governor Sanders named new Justices of the Peace across multiple counties, ensuring that communities are represented as their terms come to a close. Other notable appointments include positions in Carroll, Chicot, and Hot Spring counties, among others.

DePriest, a resident of Marshall, brings a strong background to his new role and will represent District 4 in Searcy County for the remainder of Loggins’ term.

Carroll County: David Blakenship of Eureka Springs appointed to District 1, replacing Jackie Deaton.

Chicot County: William Borgognoni of Lake Village appointed to District 7, replacing Ralph C. Jones.

Hempstead County: Krystal Goshen of Hope appointed to District 2, and Joe Raschke of Hope appointed to District 6, replacing Cherry Stewart and Troy Lerew, respectively.

Hot Spring County: Peyton Murphy of Malvern appointed to District 7, replacing Jennifer Corley.

Johnson County: Lewis Hobbs of Clarksville appointed to District 1, replacing Mike Jacobs.

Sebastian County: Brandon Morrison of Fort Smith appointed to District 5, replacing John Spradlin.

St. Francis County: Kevin Vandiver of Forrest City appointed to District 3, replacing Margarette Winfrey.

Van Buren County: Paul Wellenberger of Fairfield Bay appointed to District 4, replacing Mary Phillips.

Woodruff County: Gary McCue of McCrory appointed to District 5, replacing Charles Dallas.

Governor Sanders’ appointments aim to strengthen local governance, ensuring that all Arkansas counties are equipped with dedicated leaders committed to serving their communities.
