A man who is alleged to have attacked and injured his 80-year-old father in mid-September appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division Monday, November 3.
Nathan Marion Franks is charged with 2nd degree domestic battery.
The victim appeared in an earlier session of court to ask that a no contact order put in place as the result of the incident be lifted so he could communicate with his son.
Circuit Judge John Putman did not lift the order but allowed it to be modified so the father could contact with the son in a controlled situation.
Franks pled not guilty to the charges against him during the November 3 court session.
On September 16 just after 11 p.m. a Baxter County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence along County Road 457 to respond to a report of a domestic violence incident.
The deputy found that Franks was alleged to have attacked his elderly father causing injuries.
Franks is an inmate in the Baxter County Detention Center with his bond set at $5,000. There was some discussion about making changes to the bond, but Judge Putman said he wanted to keep it where it was until attorneys could talk to the family.
