
High school basketball teams across north central Arkansas were in action Friday night, with several programs picking up early-season victories.
In senior boys play, Bergman improved to 6-1 with a 69-29 win over Kingston. Yellville-Summit took down Cotter 71-59, and Buffalo Island Central fell in a close one to Westside, 54-53. Sloan-Hendrix defeated Valley Springs 74-53.
Ozark Mountain rolled past Viola 56-25, while Mountain View earned a 47-27 win over West Side. Timbo posted a 68-47 victory over Shirley, and Bay edged Riverside 60-56. Marshall lost to Mount Vernon-Enola 73-34, and Rural Special held off Wonderview for a 54-51 win.
In senior girls games, Cotter stays hot taking down Yellville-Summit 48-26. Bergman cruised past Kingston 70-22. Sloan-Hendrix defeated Valley Springs 73-41, and Ozark Mountain topped Viola 67-60. Mountain View slipped past West Side 63-61.
Shirley beat Timbo 50-35, and Mount Vernon-Enola handled Marshall 67-29.
