
Arkansas State handled Christian Brothers 95-67 on Saturday night in Jonesboro, extending its streak of home-opening wins to 11.
Jaxon Ellingsworth led the Red Wolves (3-1) with 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting. Matt Hayman added 15, while Royal Blue Smith, TJ Caldwell and Chudi Dioramma also scored in double figures.
A-State shot 57 percent from the field and took control midway through the first half, building a 45-28 halftime lead behind strong rebounding and a 9-2 run to close the period.
The Red Wolves pushed the margin to 20 early in the second half and never let Christian Brothers threaten. Hayman hit three 3-pointers, and Ellingsworth capped his night with a late scoring burst as A-State closed the game on a 5-0 run.
