Mountain Home swimmers carried their strong start into the Pioneer Invitational this week, turning in multiple personal bests, state-qualifying times and top-five team finishes against some of the toughest competition in their division.

Both the Bomber boys’ and girls’ teams punched state-qualifying times in the 200 medley relay, with the boys’ squad surpassing the standard by a full 15 seconds.

Peeka Traver delivered one of the meet’s standout performances with a personal best 26.55 in the 50 freestyle, a time that also secured her a state berth. She added a second qualifying mark in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 1:07.94.

Callie Kohler continued her early-season momentum, winning both the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle. She also posted another state cut time, beating the standard by nearly 30 seconds.

On the boys’ side, Josh Worman notched personal bests in the 50 free (26.46) and 100 free (59.84), while senior Ajay Reiss earned a state qualifying mark in the 100 freestyle.

Freshman Annabelle Horn set a personal best in the 100 backstroke, matched by teammate Tyler Edwards, who also recorded improvement in the event. Campbell Wendfeldt added two personal-best swims of her own, in the 200 free and the 100 backstroke the latter also meeting the state qualifying standard.

Mountain Home placed fifth out of nine teams in both the boys’ and girls’ standings, a strong showing in what coaches described as a challenging field.
