Arkansas State Police has identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run in Pope County as 82-year-old George Sanborn of Russellville.
Troopers were called around 6:45 on Saturday to State Highway 326 in the Happy Valley community after reports that a pedestrian had been struck. Sanborn was airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock, where he died of his injuries early Sunday morning.
According to investigators, the vehicle involved was traveling west on Highway 326 and may have damage to its driver’s side.
State Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to contact Troop J at 479-754-3096.
